Who we are: Masters of Pirate Lore in New Orleans

Many pirates have roamed the streets of the French Quarter, each leaving behind a legacy as wild and unpredictable as the seas they sailed. From daring privateers who fought in wars to ruthless marauders who plundered everything in sight, the stories are as rich as the rum they guzzled.

Warning! New Orleans pirates aren’t the polished heroes of fairy tales. They’re dirty (in more ways than one), crusty, salty, and savvy.
But rest assured our pirate guides are nothing like that (well, mostly). They’re master storytellers, armed with extensive, well-researched knowledge of the French Quarter and its swashbuckling pirate history. You’ll get the grit and the facts, all served with a hearty side of entertainment.

The Pirates of the Quarter tour set sail in 2017, launched by a couple of guys with a deep love for New Orleans history — especially its swashbuckling pirate past. What began as a passion project quickly grew into one of the city’s most talked-about walking tours.

Today, it’s a must-do activity in the French Quarter, consistently rated 5 stars by visitors who come for the history, stay for the stories, and leave feeling like part of the crew.

Our outstanding service and guest satisfaction have earned us this prestigious recognition.

The Captain

The Captain is a fabled figure shrouded in mystery who arrived in New Orleans in the late 1900s. The details of his early life remain unknown. It is said that he was drawn to The Crescent City at a young age, captivated by tales of adventure and the allure of the French Quarter.

He quickly gained a reputation as a formidable storyteller, known for his cunning wits and wisecracking prowess.

He has an uncanny ability to bring history to life while keeping audiences amused and hanging on every word. With his impish grin and boundless energy, he combines expert knowledge with comedic flair, making history a delightful and unforgettable experience.

The Quartermaster

Despite the usual stern expression on his face, the Quartermaster is very friendly and likeable. You can usually find him seated in the corner of a local French Quarter tavern, mulling over the days events and planning for tomorrows adventures. Don’t be afraid to join him! He’s always ready to share some rum or an ale and tell stories of his travels. He respects those that eat, drink, and fight beside him, and few others.
